RESIDENCE FOR YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS - FRANCE
Deadline: 5 May 2010.
This residency will take place from 27 August to 11 September 2010 in a town of France of 60,000 inhabitants. The eight selected residents will be offered a technical centre, fully equipped to professional standards, including a black and white darkroom and a digital workshop is reserved for their exclusive use. In this context, the young artists are invited to create and experiment. They have total carte blanche to work as they wish, stimulated by their encounters, exchanges and the diverse approaches of other participants. This amounts to a truly unique artistic experience.
Conditions of the residency :
Expenses fully covered during the residency include:
All supplies required for creation, accommodation, breakfast and evening meal from 27 August to 11 September 2010. During the residency, the selected artists must produce an exhibition. Created works will be exhibited at the end of the stay until 24 October, and will then be added to the collection of works constituted over the years by the organizing association. All negatives and original digital files remain the property of the author.

INTERNATIONAL PRINTMAKING EXHIBITION – MALAYSIA
Deadline: June 30th. 2010.
Various Institution in Malaysia will hold the Second International Printmaking Exhibition to be held at a State Art Gallery of an island in Malaysia as well as at a Museum and Gallery.
Exhibition Date
September 16th. - October 15th., 2010
Participation to the exhibition is open to all printmaking artists from around the world. Each artist may submit a maximum of four prints. Participation is free of charge, each artist must donate at least one print to the local permanent collection.
The size of the paper may not be smaller than 20 x 30 cm and not larger than 60x 80 cm. Any print exceeding this size will be disqualified.
All form and variations of two-dimensional printmaking techniques are acceptable. The organizer will publish an exhibition catalogue including photos of the prints. The organizer will charge a 30% commission on any work sold. 2010 PHOTO FESTIVAL – NETHERLANDS
Deadline: 12 of April 2010
The festival is held from 5 September through 31 October (opening Sept 4th) in a Museum in The Netherlands, as it's central location. Theme: non-Western rural areas For its upcoming photo festival Noorderlicht wants to research the contemporary changes in non-Western rural areas. How is rural life changing in the current urbanised and global economy? Is it possible, against all economic logic, to find new values for rural life? Photographers and curators who are currently working on this topic are most welcome to send in their proposals. Photo series are preferred.

XI PAINTING PRIZE - SPAIN   
Deadline: June 11 th 2010   
Any artist can participate in this XI Painting Prize. It won't be admitted more than one work of the same author neither works that have gotten other prizes in previous competitions. The theme and the technique will be free. The works cannot exceed the 200 cm. in any bigger side, neither to be inferior to 70 cm. in  any smaller side. The works must be introduced framed by a wood bar whose width doesn't overcome the 3 cm. If some work is composed by different parts (diptyches, etc.), as maximum dimensions will be calculated those of the whole. A jury will effect the selection of those works that considers deserving to take part of the Exhibition of the Prize that will take place on the month of October 2010.    
First prize of 8000 Euro.

RESIDENCE FOR ARTISTS – ITALY
Deadline: 14 of May 2010
This residence is open to all artists currently working in the specific sector of visual arts, without restrictions of approach or medium. The program is characterized by the peculiar location of the residence. The artist selected will in fact be hosted in an old carriage, the Bivouac, from the city’s public transports agency, located in a green roundabout in Turin. The Bivouac, restored by the organization’s members, is equipped with a survival kit in order to become the artist’s living and working environment. The arrangement allows the artist to experience a new and powerful interaction between the urban environment and its community. The residence will be hosted by the city of Torino between September 1st and October 20th 2010, for a period of 3 to 6 weeks, according to the needs of the selected artist. During the residence period they will be organized meetings with critics, researchers and others involved in contemporary art, giving the artist in residence the chance to present his or her works as well as the project(s) developed in Turin.
There will be one or more days in which the artist opens the studio to the general public who can meet and talk with him.
The organization offers:
- 2000 Euro of Attendance Fee
- 2.000 euros (maximum) for the production expenses for a project or projects to be developed during the residency;
- 250 euros/week for the living expenses (maximum 1.500 euros total);
- Travel RT expenses support.

XIII PAINTING PRIZE - SPAIN   
Deadline: April 21 st 2010   
Various Municipalities in Spain announce a XIII painting prize, edition 2010.   
Artists of any nationalities or residence, without limit of age can participate in the contest.   
Every author can compete with only one work of painting, original and unpublished, of his exclusive ownership and that has not been exhibited neither introduced in precedence to any other competition. The theme and the technique to be used will be of free choice. The dimensions of the works won't be inferior to 100 x 81 cm. , neither superior to 195 x 195 cm.  
The frame of the work can be constituted by a wood auction that doesn't overcome the 3 cm seen from the front. The 35 selected works will be exhibited for one month starting from the day of the opening (between the 3 and the 18  of June 2010). It will be published a catalogue with the photos of the works in exhibition. The sentence of the jury and the delivery of prizes will take place on the day of the inauguration of the exhibition.  They will be assigned three prizes of which one will go to a regional artist:    
First prize: 8000 Euro and individual exhibition during 2011 in a place to be determined    
Second prize: 3000 Euro   
Regional prize: 1000 Euro

RESIDENCE FOR ARTISTS – JAPAN
Deadline: 31 of March 2010
This Artist-in-residence program is  looking for a project which does not regard final presentation as a goal, but tries to conduct a site-specific research / project within a certain period of time. It is also expected that the research / project is open to the local community for sharing the process and collaboration. Since the program is aimed at promoting international exchanges, applicants should possess national of a country other than Japan. Not more than one artist will be selected from one country / region.
Period of the residency: Late-September through December, 2010
Each artist is provided with the following support during the residency period:
A. Studio
The studio area is 67.5 sq.m. (W:9m x D:7.5m x H:3.3m) and equipped with internet circuit (no computer) and air conditioner. Fax and 2 telephone (domestic calls only) are available for share at the Studio Office.
Artist is required to bring / prepare specific tools, equipment, and software necessary for his / her artistic activities. Although minimum tools (ex. drill, screwdriver, hammer, saw etc.) are available, studios are not equipped with professional facilities.
B. Accommodation
Each artist will be provided with a furnished studio-type apartment that includes minimum electric appliances near the studio.
C. Transportation fee
Artist from overseas: Round-trip (discounted economy class) airfare from the airport nearest their home to Narita International Airport is provided. 
D. Allowance
Artist will be provided with 100,000 yen per month for meals, local transportation, and other basic expenses and 100,000 yen per month for expense related to any kind of his / her artistic activities during residency period.
E. Insurance
Artist with foreign nationality will be covered by overseas travel injury insurance (30 million yen in case of death, or up to 2 million yen for medical treatment). Any past illness, chronic disease, and dental treatment are not covered.
F. Studio Office Support
Studio Office consists of director and coordinator. They will coordinate meetings with Japanese arts professionals, informants, and interpreters, assist artist in making arrangement necessary for his / her activities, and also facilitate communication with other artists and the local community.

INTERNATIONAL PHOTO CONTEST - ITALY 
Deadline: May 10th 2010 
The organizer of this contest is an Italian firm operating in the food sector.
The only art form to which the contest is turned is the photography. Theme: "it looks good! " Limits of language or technique are not set. The participation is open to all the photographers, of any nationalities of age between the 18 and the 40 years old. The participation is free. The first classified will receive a prize of 1.500 Euro. The winning work will physically enter to belong to the collection of the firm and all the rights related to the same work will become ownership of the firm. The delivery of the winning work to the address of the firm will be paid by the same firm. To 1°,2°,3° classified will be given the opportunity to participate in a day meeting with the photographer Franco Fontana at the center of the firm in Savignano sul Panaro, Italy. INTERNATIONAL PRIZE OF PHOTOGRAPHY – GREECE
Deadline: 11 of April 2010
A Museum of Photography in Greece, the only state-run museum dedicated to photography, overseen by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, invite photographers to take part in its 3rd Award of photography, which is being organised in connection with the PhotoBiennale 2010 / 21st International Photography Meeting).
The theme is: Learning for life, working to grow
The Central idea of this year’s theme is bound up with the importance of lifelong learning as well as with work and its importance as a means of personal development and not just a way of life.
Any photographers and any artists who use the photographic medium, irrespective of sex, age and nationality, may take part in the competition. The chosen photographer/artist (1st award) will receive as a prize the sum of EUR 5 000. His or her work will be presented in a slide show during the award ceremony, and the Museum of Photography will include an exhibition by the winner in its next PhotoBiennale. A distinction will be awarded to the photographers in second and third place.

BIENNIAL OF PAINTING, SCULPTURE AND PHOTOGRAPHY - SPAIN   
Deadline: October 15 th 2010   
For this International VII Biennale of the Basketball in Fine Arts 2010, Painting, Sculpture and Photography, the works will have as only thematic the Basketball in all of its aspects. Every author can introduce a maximum of two works.   
- Painting: The introduced works won't have to exceed the 2,00 x 1,50 meters in height or in width, and they must be duly sent framed by a wood bar whose width doesn't exceed the 3 cm.   
- Sculpture: The introduced works won't have to exceed the 2 meters high and the 1,50 meters of width and their weight won't have to exceed  the 500 Kgs.   
- Photography:  max. 200 cm in the longest side, and the shortest side will have to be at least 50 cm.   
Bugdet of  Euro 24.040 for the purchase of the works. The participation is open to everybody.

ART PRIZE - ITALY 
Deadline: 31st of July 2010 
The contest, finalized to the promotion of the contemporary art in Italy, includes the realization of an exhibition, of a catalogue of around 150 pages with around 130 colour illustrations and critical texts and the final assignment of four monetary prizes for a total of 20.000 Euro. The exhibition of the finalists works, the vote and the adjudication of the prizes will take place at  a Foundation in Catania, Italy on November 2010.  
The Prize is open to professional and emerging artists, and to students of Italian nationality (residents and non-residents in Italy) or foreigners that operate on the Italian national territory. The prize encourages the participation of artists of every level.  
The work has to be the maximum artistic expression of the candidate, realized in the last 24 months. It is not obligatory that the work is unpublished. There is not a special theme to follow. 
PAINTING  PRIZE
A first prize of Euro 5.000 
Admitted techniques: oil, acrylic, industrial varnish, ink, vinyl, water colours, graphite, crayon, printings of various type, etc. Support of the work: canvas, paper, cardboard, wood, plastics, metal, etc.  
The maximum dimension will have to be  2,50 meters in any side, included the frame (if any). 
PHOTO & DIGITAL GRAPHICS PRIZE  
A first prize of Euro 5.000 
Admitted techniques: works in 2D, included digital photo, analogical photo, computer graphics, software art or works realized with various techniques like digital manipulations (included the use of painting or other kind of manual expression) web art, polaroid, photo taken with Mobile phone, photo collage, etc. The maximum dimension of the work will have to be of 2,50 meters in any side, included the frame (if any). 
VIDEO & ANIMATION PRIZE
A first prize of Euro 5.000 
Admitted techniques: video, film, all the techniques of animation. For the final exhibition, artists will have to send the original works onDVD in high quality, while for the registration to the Prize and the publication of the video on the web site it is necessary to follow to parameters indicated on the integral announcement.
INSTALLATION, SCULPTURE & PERFORMANCE  PRIZE
A First prize of  Euro 5.000 
Admitted techniques: three-dimensional works like installation, sculpture and live performance, or interactive performance, All the materials, organic and inorganic are approved, included works with interactive base and / or electric connection, mechanization, light, sound or video. If an installation also foresees the projection of a video, this one  must be introduced to the Prize on DVD. The maximum area reserved to the exhibition of the installations is of  6 x 6 meters.  
All the finalists works, included the 4 works that will receive the first prizes, will remain ownerships of the artist.

PAINTING OF SMALL FORMAT PRIZE - SPAIN   
Deadline: March 31 2011   
A Municipality in Spain announce a Prize of Painting of Small Format. All the artists, of any nationality or residence can participate in this prize. Artists will have to have realized at least one personal exhibition in a gallery of commercial art or in a recognized public or private space of art.   
The works can be realized in any technique, of free theme. The dimensions won't have to be inferior to cm. 24 x 19 and they won't have to be superior to 73 x 60 cm. The works must obligatorily be framed with a wood bar, whose width doesn't overcome the three cms. seen from the front. Every artist can introduce only one work that will have to be unique and original and not introduced in any other contest. With the selected works, it will be organized an exhibition from the 3rd to the 27th of May. A catalogue of the exhibition, including all the selected works will be published. The sentence of the Jury will be announced on the 27 th of May 2010. From May 29 to June 22 nd 2010 the selected paintings will be exhibited also in an Art gallery.  The Prize is of 12.000 Euro. The winning painting will remain ownership of the organization.

INTERNATIONAL CONTEST FOR A MUSEUM - ITALY 
Deadline: April 08 th 2010 
The contest is aimed to the realization of n. 2 art works to be installed in two unusual spaces of passage inside the new area of a Museum of contemporary art in Rome, Italy. 
The two art works will have to be in harmony with the architectural style of the new structure. The art works will have to be planned for two spaces:  
The first space is constituted by "secondary access" of the elevator, at  the first underground level of the parking area.  
It is the passage from the shade of the parking area  to the light of the foyer. 
So, it required an artistic intervention on the theme of the “Light”. 
The second space is the staircase that connects Via Nizza to the superior part of the building. 
Once more, the artistic intervention will have to be on the theme of the “Light”. 
The general remuneration for the works is of Euro 407.233,12, included taxes and all the expenses related to the realization and installation of the works. 
Italian artists or foreigners that elects domicile in Italy can participate to the contest.

INTERNATIONAL SCUPTURE SYMPOSIUM – TURKEY
Deadline: 19th of March 2010
This International Stone Sculpture Symposium will take place in a municipality of Turkey between the 20th May 2010 and 20 th June 2010. A total of 10 artists will be participating in the symposium. The material to be used is marble. The organization will provide each artist with a maximum of 3m3 block/ blocks of marble in total, cut in accordance to the artist’s dimension specifications.
In addition, materials needed for the mounting of the sculpture and the base –if specified in the application portfolio- will be provided by the Municipality. The symposium has no particular theme. The sculptures created in the frame of the symposium will remain in the possession of the Municipality. The transportation ( round trip flight ticket), accommodation and food for the participating artists will be paid by the organization. Accommodation (only in case of sharing the same room) and food will be paid by the organizer for the symposium participants companions (limited to one person). To each artist who has completed his work in the given time and place will be given a total of 2500 Euro.

PHOTO PRIZE  - ITALY 
Deadline: May 31 st 2010 
The contest is finalized to the promotion of the photography in Italy and particularly of the "spicy" photo expression and culture. The participation is free. 15 artists will be chosen to be part of the exhibition that will take place in a town of  Calabria, Italy from the  8 to the 12 of September 2010. The participation will have no cost for the artist. The Images, infact, must be uploaded on the web site and the organization will think to print the pictures and arrange the exhibition. Artists of Italian nationality (residents and non-residents in Italy) or foreigners that operate on the Italian national territory can participate to the contest. There are not limits of age, sex or other qualification to participate. The theme of the works will have to be "Vital Energy". Every author will have to send a mini project formed by 4 photographic works inherent the theme of the contest. In its development the project can be a history, to represent a concept, a situation, an homogeneous collections etc. The main point is that the 4 images are strongly tied among them. They are admitted images realized with digital and analogical equipment, contaminations with painting or other forms of manipulation. However the works will have to be reproducible and printable.  
The prizes are the following: 
- 1° prize: 1000 Euro and stay of 3 days  in Calabria, Italy
- 2° prize: 500 Euro and stay of  3 days  in Calabria, Italy
- 3° prize: 250 European and stay of  3 days in Calabria, Italy
The artists will be invited to the awarding. The winning works remain ownership of the artists. The winners will be contacted by the end of July.

III PLASTIC ART COMPETITION - SPAIN   
Deadline: May 31 st 2010   
A municipality in Spain, announces its competition of plastic arts, with the goal to promote and to spread the work of new creators. Artists of any nationality can participate. Every participant can introduce a maximum of two works. These will have to be original and unpublished.   
Painting - works realized with liberty of style and technique (oil, temper, acrylic, ink, vinyl, water colour, graphite, pencil, collage, etc.) and on any support (canvas, paper, wood, plastic, iron, etc.). The maximum dimensions for every work are of 150 cm. in any side.   
Sculpture - Works realized with whatever organic or inorganic material. The maximum dimensions for every work will be of 150 cm. in any side.    
Photo - Photo in analogical support in black and white, colour; digital photos in black and white, or colour; works completely realized on computer. The maximum dimensions for every work are of 150 cm. in any  side. The municipality will destine a maximum of 25.000 Euro to acquire those works that, for its quality, the jury considers worthy to belong to the town’s art collection. The price of purchase will be the one the artist pointed out in the registration form. INTERNATIONAL PRIZE OF PLASTIC ART - SPAIN   
Deadline: 30 April of 2010   
A foundation in Spain announces its  IV International prize for plastic arts endowed with 27.000 European and directed artists of any nationalities younger than 35 year-old. The thematic and the technique to participate in the Prize are free. Every artist can introduce a maximum of two original works, in any of the following disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, engraving and new disciplines. Maximum  format of cm.  200 x 200.

BIENNIAL PRIZE - ARGENTINA

This prize is open to an artistic project that develops technological multimedia processes on the poetry of the water, of the light and/or of the movement.   
Projects for separate formats as installations, video installations, interactive installations, sculptures, objects, expanded video, interventions in specific spaces, works with development for the Net, robotic art,  luminous art, etc. The winning project will receive a prize of USD 5.000. The organizers will grant the prize once the winning work has been realized. The winning work will be exhibited in Buenos Aires,  probably during the month of September 2010.

III NATIONAL WATER COLOUR COMPETITION - SPAIN   
Deadline: July 15 th 2010   
A town hall in Spain announces its III water colour competition.
All the national artists or foreigners can participate with a maximum of two works for author, provided that they are resident in the European union.   
The theme of the work will be free and the used technique will be the water colour.   
Every participant can introduce a maximum of two works. The works will have to be introduced, necessarily framed by a wood bar, smooth, strong, of 4 cms. and protected by  metacrilato; protection with glass is not admitted. All the costs of shipping and restitution of the works, to their point of origin,  will be paid by the organization. With the selected works, an exhibition will be organized from the 1 to the 12 of  September 2010 in the Exhibition Room of a Museum, situated in the city.   
Prize of 3.000 Euro gross and Diploma.  The Jury will announce its decision on July 30. The winning work will remain ownership of the organization.

ART WORK FOR A PALACE OF JUSTICE - ITALY 
Deadline: April 30th 2010 
A municipality in Italy, announces a contest among artists for the choice and the execution of art works destined to the "New Palace of Justice". The artist is called to propose one or more artistic elements to be placed exclusively outside in the space before the entrance of the building. The element or the artistic elements can freely be realized with any technique and material, provided that the characteristics of stability and duration are assured in the time. The work may not have explicit references to the activity of  the palace of Justice, but rather to reflect the artistic contemporary thought and being of non figurative art. The general remuneration is of Euro 361.519,83 ( all the expenses included). Any artist residing in the European Union can participate.

EXHIBITION OF WIND OBJECTS – GERMANY
Deadline: 19 of March 2010
This exhibition of the wind-objects will take place in Germany. The exhibition is accompanied by a framework-programme, which invites to the hiking and discovering of landscape and exhibits. „Turbulences “ is the topic of the 5th international art competition. Turbulences are „meetings of unordered currents“. This is also a metaphor for the aspects of communication of winds of the world. They stand for fast changing situations. The organization looks forward to multiform ideas, which dedicate themselves to the interpretation of the topic. Artists can answer in the form of wind objects, installations, performances and land art in the widest sense. Variety and transverse thinking from all sections of the art are welcome. The organizers will search for realization also for unusual contributions together with the artists. A jury of art historians, artists and persons of the public life will select the exhibits. Another Jury will award the prize winner(s). The art price is endowed with 2,500 euros. The objects must be wind- and weatherproof. The objects must have suitable and functional parts to hang them up with (seams with metal holes, hooks, rings poles or stands or something similar. PAINTING BIENNIAL - SPAIN

A Town hall in Spain, with the finality to promote and to spread the creative and aesthetical values in the world of the plastic Art, announces its XXIII Biennale of Painting.
Artists of any  nationality, older than 18 years old, can participate. The thematic and the techniques are free. The minimum format of the works is of 1m2 and the maximum format is of 2x2m. Every artist can participate in the contest with a maximum of one work; the costs for the shipping and the recovery of the works will have to be paid by the artists.   
With the selected works it will be organized an exhibition that will open on April 16 and it will close on May 31. A catalogue will be realized with all the works in exhibition. LAND ART PROJECT – UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Deadline: 04 of June 2010
The long-term goal of this Initiative is to design and construct a series of land/environmental art installations that uniquely combine aesthetic intrigue and artistic concept with clean energy generation. The art itself will continuously distribute clean energy into the electrical grid, with the sculptures having the potential to provide power to thousands of homes in the United Arab Emirates. This open call to interdisciplinary teams is the first step in the process of initiating this change. The winning proposal will be the first in line to be constructed. Once completed, it will be the first of its kind in the world. An exhibit of all qualified proposals will be held at the conclusion of the competition. Each participant team must choose one of three hypothetical sites as a context in which to design. This call is to design a pragmatic art installation for one of three pre-selected sites that fulfills the following criteria:
-Is a three dimensional form that has the ability to stimulate and challenge the mind of the viewer on a
contemplative level.
- Embodies a sense of beauty and concept in its form
- Captures energy from nature, converts it into electricity, and has the ability to store, and/or transform and transmit electrical power to a power grid connection point to be supplied by others.
- Does not create secondary emissions other than electricity and does not pollute its surroundings.
-  Is safe to people who would view it.
-  Is pragmatic and constructible within reason and employs technology that can be scalable and tested. There is no limit on the type of technology or the proprietary nature of the technology. The Land Art Generator Initiative will endeavor to reach contractual agreements with any company and/or patent holder that is specified as a part of a successful design entry. It is recommended that the
design team make an effort to engage such entities in preliminary dialogue as a part of their own research and development of the design entry.
-  Does not negatively impact the natural surroundings.
-  Uses all or any portion of the site. There is no requirement or restriction on size
The entry must not be in use in any other context and it must not have been previously published or exhibited anywhere in the world.
At least one winner will receive $15,000 in prize award money. The Prize Award Money is a cash payment to the winning designer and is not related to costs of construction of the work. The amount is subject to change upward with additional awards being granted.

V COMPETITION OF FIGURATIVE PAINTING AND SCULPTURE- 2010

Every artist can participate to this V Competition of Painting and Figurative Sculpture 2010 with only one work, original and unpublished. Theme and technique are free, in the formality of Figurative Art. Minimum dimensions of 60x60 cm. and maximum of 300x200 cm. in Painting. The works must not be framed or they will have to be framed only by a simple wood crossbar. On the back of the works, the title of the work and the name and last name of the author must be specified. About  the sculpture, the maximum dimensions will be of 200 cm. in any side (without counting the base) and the minimum will be of  50 cm, without limit of weight. The sculptures must be realized in definitive material. First prize for the painting of Euro 36.000.  First prize for the sculpture of Euro 44.000.

XVIII PAINTING PRIZE - SPAIN

A Town in Spain announces its XVIII painting prize. Artists of any nationalities can participate to the prize with an original work for author not winning in any other context. INTERNATIONAL ART PRIZE - UKRAINE

This prize established by the Foundation of an Ukrainian billionaire and art collector, is a worldwide contemporary art prize to discover, recognize and provide long-term support to a future generation of artists.
Andreas Gursky and Jeff Koons, both are Mentor Artists of the Art Prize.
Artists around the world, without restriction of gender, nationality, race or artistic medium may enter the competition through online application.
20 shortlisted artists will be selected to show their work in an exhibition in Kiev, Ukraine. These artists will be judged by an international Jury who will award one main prize and up to five special prizes.
Main Prize
The Main Prize will be awarded to one artist who will receive the amount of US$ 100,000 from the international jury in the context of an exhibition. The Prize will be split in US$ 60,000 in cash and US$ 40,000 for the investment of new work production.
Special Prizes
Within the framework of selecting the Prize winner, the jury will have the opportunity to additionally award up to five Special Prizes to support young talents.
The Prizes will not be bound to a financial award but rather serve above all to support the further development of the artists in form of residences in different art contexts.

La Biennale di Venezia Foundation

The Venice Biennale has for over a century been one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world. Ever since its foundation in 1895, it has been in the avant-garde, promoting new artistic trends and organising international events in the contemporary arts in accordance with a multi-disciplinary model which characterises its unique nature.

   

The history of the Venice Biennale dates back from 1895, when the first International Art Exhibition was organized. In the 1930s new festivals were born: Music, Cinema, and Theatre (the Venice Film Festival in 1932 was the first film festival ever organized). In 1980 the first Intl. Architecture Exhibition took place, and in 1999 Dance made its debut at the Venice Biennale.
